The Position

Job Summary:

The Head of Site Operations, Hospitality & Real Estate is responsible for the strategic management of the site's non-technical infrastructure and "Soft Services." This role oversees Real Estate management, GMP Cleaning Services, Canteen/Catering, Waste Management, and general site services. The position ensures a high-quality, compliant, and sustainable working environment for all employees while managing a significant number of outsourced service partners (100+ external staff). This role is critical in maintaining the site's hygiene standards (GMP requirement) and driving sustainability goals through effective waste management.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Real Estate & Space Management: Manage site layout and space utilization; plan and execute office renovation or reorganization projects. Maintain lease agreements and ensure compliance with real estate regulations.
  • GMP Service & Hygiene Management: Oversee Plant Service Cleaning to ensure production and lab areas meet strict cleanliness classifications (ISO/GMP standards). Manage GMP garment services and Pest Control programs.
  • Employee Services (Hospitality): Manage the Canteen and Catering services, ensuring food safety, quality, and variety for employees. Oversee other site amenities such as shuttle buses, green maintenance, and reception services.
  • Waste Management & Environmental Strategy: Manage the collection, storage, and disposal of all site waste in compliance with local laws. Lead initiatives such as zero-waste-to-landfill to reduce the site's environmental footprint.
  • Vendor Partnership & Contract Management: Act as the primary contract owner for large Integrated Facility Management (IFM) providers. Foster a "One Team" culture aligned with Roche values and safety standards.
  • Financial Scope & Budgeting: Manage a significant OPEX budget for outsourced services and utilities. Continuously optimize service contracts to ensure value for money without compromising quality.
  • EHS Support: Collaborate with the SHE team to ensure all service providers adhere to safety protocols and site-specific safety regulations.
  • Digitalization & Innovation: Implement digital tools for facility booking, service requests, and visitor management to drive operational efficiency.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Facility Management, or related field.
  • Requirements of China Medical Device GMP article 8 and IVD section 2.1.1.
  • 8+ years of experience in Facility Management or Site Operations, preferably in a manufacturing (GMP) environment. Proven experience in managing large integrated facility management (IFM) contracts.
  • Specialist knowledge of GMP cleaning requirements and environmental waste regulations. Strong negotiation and SLA definition skills. Fluency in English and Mandarin (written and spoken).
