Position: Senior / Compliance Officer

Location: Hong Kong

Description

We are seeking a Compliance Officer / Senior Compliance Officer to join our North Asia team. This role is critical to maintaining compliance across our Hong Kong office’s diverse business lines: Fund Administration, FATCA/CRS Filing Services, and TCSP-Licensed Corporate Services. You will also act as the Local Data Protection Officer (DPO), ensuring adherence to Hong Kong’s PDPO while aligning with the Group’s global GDPR-based standards.

Key Responsibilities

Fund Administration & FATCA/CRS

  • Oversee AML/KYC for investor onboarding (OFC, LPF, Cayman, Jersey structures); review high-risk files (PEPs, nested structures).

  • Serve as subject matter expert for FATCA/CRS filing services; maintain filing calendar and ensure accurate, timely submissions to the IRD.

Corporate Services (TCSP) & SAR

  • Manage TCSP license requirements, including regulatory returns to the Companies Registry.

  • Review AML/KYC for high-risk corporate clients (directors, beneficial owners).

  • Identify and investigate suspicious transactions; prepare and file Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) with the JFIU in compliance with AMLO.

Data Protection Officer (DPO)

  • Maintain the firm’s Personal Data Inventory (investor, client, employee data).

  • Handle Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and manage data breach responses (notifications to PCPD).

  • Align local practices with Group GDPR standards; support cross-border data transfer assessments.

Regulatory Engagement

  • Liaise with SFC, Companies Registry, IRD, JFIU, and PCPD as needed.

  • Maintain compliance trackers and support regulatory audits.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business, or related field.

  • Experience: 3-5 years in compliance/risk within financial services.

  • Funds Expertise: Investor AML/KYC, fund structures, FATCA/CRS filings.

  • Corporate Services Expertise: TCSP license requirements; proven experience preparing STRs for JFIU submission.

  • Data Privacy: Working knowledge of PDPO and GDPR ; experience with DSARs, PIAs, and data mapping.

  • Skills: Advanced Excel, fluent English (Mandarin is a plus), strong analytical skills, and attention to detail.

Highly Desirable

  • Experience with World-Check or similar screening tools.

  • TCSP license holder or responsible person experience.

  • Familiarity with Hong Kong/Cayman fund regulations.
