The PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at Jefferson Health is 12-month long, paid, post-graduate experience. The resident will join the pharmacy team at Jefferson Health and integrate themselves in both the operations and clinical areas of pharmacy. Through a variety of core, elective and longitudinal rotations, the resident will gain a perspective of collaborative medication management in areas including pharmacy practice, critical care, infectious diseases and internal medicine. Residents will also participate in hospital committees, perform longitudinal research, and complete a teaching and learning certificate through a program. Job Duties
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
- Provide pharmaceutical care to a diverse patient population.
- Provide support to pharmacy operations across the Jefferson Enterprise.
- Meet outlined program requirements for completion of the Residency as outlined in the Pharmacy Residency Manual.
Minimum Qualifications
- Specialized Diploma Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education accredited degree program (PharmD)
- Completion of Pharmacist competencies during orientation period at start of program.
- RP - Registered Pharmacist - State of Pennsylvania Within 120 Days or
- RP - Registered Pharmacist - State of New Jersey Within 120 Days

Physical Demands
Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
