Overview
The Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) – South LAC role is based in Bogotá, Colombia and supports Mastercard’s South Latin America region by delivering high-quality financial planning, analysis, and management reporting. This position plays a key role in enabling informed decision-making by providing financial insights, performance analysis, and forward-looking perspectives to regional and local stakeholders.
The role is responsible for supporting budgeting, forecasting, financial close, and reporting processes, while monitoring business performance, identifying risks and opportunities, and ensuring financial accuracy and discipline across the region. The analyst partners closely with Finance Business Partners, Controllers, and business teams to support strategic initiatives, customer deals, and regional priorities, operating in a complex, multi-country environment with diverse macroeconomic conditions.
This role requires 3+ years of experience in FP&A or related financial roles, strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of financial systems and processes, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The position is part of the Finance team for South Latin America (South LAC) and contributes to continuous improvement, standardization, and automation of financial processes across the region.

Role & Responsibilities
Financial Planning, Reporting & Analysis
• Support the monthly financial close by analyzing variances versus budget, forecast, and prior year, identifying key drivers and providing clear, business-focused commentary.
• Prepare, review, and maintain standardized financial reporting packages, including KPIs and performance dashboards, to support regional and local management.
• Monitor revenue, expenses, and profitability, highlighting risks and opportunities while considering macroeconomic and market dynamics across South LAC.
• Respond to ad-hoc analysis and information requests, delivering accurate and timely insights to finance and business stakeholders.
Budgeting & Forecasting
• Support the annual budget and periodic forecast cycles, including preparation of inputs, validation of assumptions, and consolidation of financial data.
• Ensure accurate and timely data uploads into financial planning systems (e.g., Hyperion), maintaining data integrity and consistency.
• Track performance against plan and forecast, proactively identifying deviations and emerging trends.
Business & Deal Support
• Provide financial support for customer deals, incentives, and contra revenue activities, including forecasting, accruals, and performance tracking.
• Support the analysis of deals versus business cases, generating insights to assess financial impact and decision-making effectiveness.
• Collaborate with regional Finance Business Partners and Controllers to ensure appropriate financial and accounting treatments are applied.
Process Improvement & Automation
• Contribute to financial process improvements by enhancing models, tools, and reporting templates.
• Identify opportunities to standardize, automate, and streamline reporting and analysis, improving efficiency and accuracy.
• Support the adoption of best practices and consistent processes across South LAC.
Stakeholder Collaboration
• Build effective working relationships with regional and local finance teams, BFC colleagues, and business partners.
• Communicate financial insights clearly and concisely, tailoring messages to different audiences.
• Operate with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and collaboration in a matrixed, regional environment.

Experience & Qualifications
Required Experience
• 3+ years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Corporate Finance, Controlling, or related financial roles.
• Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting.
• Experience working with financial systems and BI tools (e.g., Hyperion, Oracle, or similar).
• Exposure to complex, multi-country or regional environments is a strong advantage.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• Postgraduate qualification (MBA, Master’s in Finance, CPA or equivalent) is a plus.
Skills & Competencies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Solid understanding of financial planning, reporting, and forecasting techniques.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outputs under tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate data into insights.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Strong business acumen, curiosity, and willingness to challenge assumptions constructively.
Languages
• Fluent English (written and spoken).
• Spanish required.
