Job Summary
Responsible for validating product quality by analyzing and testing the quality of the codebase. Makes decisions affecting architecture of the test codebase including which software to use for writing test code. Focuses on writing code that will be executed in an automated and repeatable fashion which will reduce manual testing efforts and increase code quality and consistency. Develops and maintains code that validates front-end, middleware and database systems, using the latest tools and common programming languages. Provides input into various software development lifecycle stages. Partners with software engineers to write efficient automation code using coding standards and best practices. Executes automated code and creates comprehensive execution reports for team. Repairs complex broken automation scripts and performs peer reviews of automation codebase. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline. Usually determines own work priorities. Acts as resource and mentor for colleagues with less experience.Job Description
Automation engineer 3:
Core responsibilities:
- Designing and scaling robust, reusable automation frameworks
- Build and maintain automated scripts for functional, regression and performance testcases
- Utilizing automated tools to verify frame exchanges (e.g., 4-way handshakes, Beacon intervals)
- Simulate high-density client environments and automate performance/stress testing
- Analyze automation logs to identify whether failures are due to software bugs or hardware limitations
- Reviewing a peer's automation code to ensure it follows clean-code principles
- Promote best practices in version control and documentation
- Design and automate the generation of technical dashboards that track key performance indicators (KPIs)
Job skills
- Proficiency in Python using frameworks like Robot Framework, Selenium or Playwright.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests into tools like Jenkins
- Expert-level Git skills to maintain high-quality automation code
- Wi-Fi RF and Networking protocols – Intermediate knowledge
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs to automate the management of cloud-based wireless controllers. Experience using tools like SOAP UI Pro, Postman
- Linux/Unix administration: command-line proficiency for managing test environments, log analysis, and shell scripting
- Good understanding of database systems like SQL server
- Hands on experience in managing cloud-based infrastructure and containerization is a plus
