Job Description:

This is a one year anesthesiology teaching position that will provide instructional support in the clinical and surgical skills laboratories.

80% Instruct year 1- 4 DVM students in the principles and application of anesthesia in clinical skills and surgical skills laboratories, including live animal laboratories. Participate in didactic instruction including clinical rotations.

20% Other duties as assigned including emergency duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

DVM degree or equivalent

Specific experience: Successful completion of a one-year rotating internship or anesthesia internship or equivalent related veterinary experience.

Minimum Certifications/Licenses:

Eligible for Louisiana faculty DVM licensure

Preferred Qualifications:

DVM

Specific experience: One year experience teaching Anesthesia and Analgesia (didact or clinical)

Physical Requirements-Required to be cable of lifting more than 50 pounds, standing or walking for prolonged periods, vision near sight, vision far sight, able to reach above and below the shoulder, pushing, pulling, grasping, sitting, bending, climbing, crawling, squatting, and/or twisting.
