About the role
Job Description:
The Patient Access Services (PAS) ED Registrar II is responsible for the coordination of registration, authorization, and information processing requirements associated with Emergency Department services. The ED Registrar II gathers appropriate demographic, clinical and financial information in a timely and accurate manner to ensure the patient’s smooth interaction with John Muir's various healthcare services. The person in this role works under the direct supervision of the department manager.Education:
High School Graduate or Equivalent - Preferred
Experience:
2 years - Insurance Plan Payment Practices and Billing Requirements - Preferred
2 years - Information Technology – Electronic Health Record - Preferred
2 years - Medical Office - Preferred
Skills:
Good spelling and grammar skills.
Keyboard by touch.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Must have excellent communication and customer skills and be able to respond to a variety of circumstances with compassion, patience and flexibility, sometimes under difficult circumstances.
Able to work in as established time frame with attention to detail and accuracy.
Demonstrates willingness and ability to gain experience in new software programs as needed.
Microsoft Excel/Word skills.
Possess the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Electronic Medical Record (EPIC) preferred.
