About the role
Responsible transportation of import and export shipments to the correct location within the required timeframe. Handling customs clearance of shipments in accordance with country specific customs laws and regulations
Key Responsibilities:
Transportation services: Booking transport, scheduling deliveries, managing carrier relationships, and overseeing freight forwarders.
Cost Competitiveness: Optimizing transportation mode to ensure timely schedules and cost competitive solutions.
Customs & Compliance: In compliance with import/export laws manage customs declarations.
Documentation: Preparing and verifying required documentation like invoices, certificates of origin, transport documents and customs forms.
Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating risks like delays, damage, or non-compliance, and managing insurance for shipments.
Requirements
Logistics or commercial education or related field
Experience from transport booking services
Knowledge of customs legislation (e.g., inward processing, Intrastat statistics)
Familiarity with international delivery terms (INCOTERMS)
Letter of Credit is seen as an advantage for the position.
Proficiency in IT systems
Language skills: English is essential; other languages are considered an advantage.

Solution oriented mind-set and can-do attitude
The role requires collaboration and communication skills, stress management, and quick, independent decision-making ability.
The role requires continuous training and monitoring of international developments (e.g., changing national and international regulations, economic and political conditions, strikes, accidents, natural disasters, holidays), as well as geographical awareness
Understanding of dangerous goods regulations
Experience from ATA-carnet handling for temporary exports
5-7 years of experience in the relevant field.
