Registered Veterinary Technician, RVT
Location: Ottawa, Ontario
Department: Hospitalized Patients - Treatment/ICU
Employment Type: Full Time
Job Status: Existing
Compensation: $19.00 to $38.00, depending on experience and skills.
Schedule: Shifts are designed to provide flexibility and variety, with durations ranging from 10 to 12 hours. The schedule includes a mix of daytime, evening, and overnight shifts, rotating regularly to ensure a balanced workload that accommodates the team's needs.
Alta Vista Specialty & Emergency is excited to welcome a dedicated Veterinary Technician (RVT) to our team of skilled veterinary professionals. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside and support our board-certified specialists, gaining valuable experience and knowledge in a collaborative environment. While our network is large, we still offer that local community feeling, mentorship, and additional training!
Our ICU team members are our superstars of all things patient care related. These caring and dedicated individuals ensure that all hospitalized patients are treated like one of their own during their stay.
Have completed a Veterinary Technician program.
Surgical preparation, assisting and patient recovery.
Ability to keep detailed and accurate patient records.
Compassionate care for our hospitalized patients and their pet parents
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Strong problem-solving aptitude, including the ability to ask clarifying questions to facilitate effective solution-finding
Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with your colleagues and pet parents.
Passion to learn more within the role.

About us: Working with our Critical Care team, the ICU members care for patients from our ER and specialty departments. Our board-certified specialists provide care in surgery, behaviour, anesthesia, dentistry, critical care, internal medicine, and ophthalmology and have access to on-site MRI, Fluoroscopy and CT diagnostics. With a dedicated staff of 160, including 30+ veterinarians, we offer excellence in veterinary medicine because we are passionate about what we do!
