POSITION OVERVIEW


At BDC, the only bank dedicated exclusively to Canadian entrepreneurs, you will support the performance and planning strategy of client-facing business lines under the COO. You will develop forecasting models and actionable insights to guide operational and corporate decisions. Your work contributes directly to the success of Canadian businesses. CHALLENGES TO BE MET


  • Develop and maintain forecasting models using Excel and SQL to support performance monitoring and strategic planning.
  • Generate insights and provide business intelligence expertise; collaborate with partners to design and implement strategies that meet performance objectives.
  • Recommend performance measurement frameworks and incentive programs aligned with field operations and corporate goals.
  • Analyze business results to identify performance gaps; design and drive actionable improvement plans.
  • Optimize annual planning processes (resource allocation, market potential, target setting, variance analysis).
  • Oversee data collection and analysis from internal and external sources; ensure data accuracy, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Deliver insights and recommendations to senior management to inform decisions on performance and corrective actions.
  • Prepare clear, structured presentations for senior leadership using effective storytelling and data visualization.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes and tools related to performance and planning activities.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Business Intelligence, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in business intelligence, performance measurement, operations, or strategy.
  • Proficiency in SQL (Structured Query Language).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., modeling, pivot tables) and PowerPoint; working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
  • Demonstrated experience in data analysis, financial analysis, and problem-solving.
  • Experience developing forecasts, performance dashboards, and variance analysis.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to gather requirements and present insights to stakeholders.
  • Fluent in French and English (spoken and written).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business Analytics or a related field.
  • Experience in the financial services industry (e.g., banking, lending, credit, underwriting).
  • Knowledge of Python and/or R for data analysis.
