Job Overview:
This role will play a key part in strengthening the company’s regulatory and compliance capabilities in Hong Kong, with a primary focus on licensing, regulatory engagement, and ongoing compliance oversight.
The role partners closely with business, product, technology, and operations teams to embed regulatory requirements into day-to-day activities and strategic initiatives. It also serves as a key point of contact for regulators and external advisors in Hong Kong, supporting the company’s growth in the digital asset space while maintaining a strong compliance posture.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end regulatory licensing applications, including preparation, submission, and ongoing engagement with relevant regulatory authorities.
- Conduct regulatory mapping and gap analyses to assess compliance against evolving local and cross-border regulatory requirements.
- Draft, review, and maintain licensing documentation, regulatory filings, and responses to regulator inquiries.
- Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance frameworks, including policies, procedures, standards, and internal controls.
- Monitor and analyse regulatory developments, particularly within the digital asset and crypto landscape, and proactively advise senior management and key stakeholders on regulatory implications.
- Partner closely with internal stakeholders (business, product, IT, operations) and external parties (consultants, legal counsel, and regulators) on licensing and compliance matters.
- Develop and deliver compliance training programmes to strengthen regulatory awareness and foster a strong compliance culture across the organisation.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in regulatory compliance within financial institutions; experience in fintech, digital assets, or crypto-related businesses is a strong advantage.
- Solid understanding of Hong Kong’s regulatory framework, with hands-on experience in HKMA and SFC requirements.
- Demonstrated experience managing regulatory engagement, licensing processes, and ongoing regulatory compliance.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across functions and seniority levels.
