Job Summary: To manage HEX Painting & WHEX & PT manufacturing processes, layout, tooling, gaging and equipment to economically produce product components and assemblies, and provide concurrent process functions from design concept through implementation. Also Including Innovation application.

What You Will Do:

  • The following positions typically report directly or indirectly to this position: Manufacturing Engineers, Manufacturing Project Engineers.  The incumbent provides direction, focus, motivation, and encouragement for subordinates. The position is responsible for all personnel issues and performance evaluation of subordinates.
  • Adheres to established standards, policies and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, ergonomics and affirmative action.
  • Provides supervisory support to Operations for automated manufacturing systems, manufacturing processes, gaging and checking equipment, tooling and work standards, project management methodology/processes/tools and NPI projects. Works closely with product engineering, quality, and Operations Managers to ensure common goals in support of product group objectives. Ensure and implement new technologies and continual improvements on the HEX Painting & WHEX & PT processes to improve quality and reduce costs. Also supports corporate initiatives such as 6 Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, certification, etc.
  • Facility Transformation - Complete the installation of machinery and equipment related to facility transformation. Responsible for all machinery moves and facility rearrangement and seek innovation.
  • Capital & Expense Management - Maintains the capital expenditure activity, which includes the proper accounting and tax implications. Expenditures are monitored and compared to the original target in the request for investment.

What You Have:

  • Capacity Planning & Management - MFG: Knowledge of tools, approaches and practices for determining production demand and ability to manage resources needed to provide satisfactory levels of service.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
  • Manufacturing Equipment: Knowledge of the electrical, mechanical and logistics equipment used in manufacturing; ability to safely operate, maintain, update and store them.
  • Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process.
  • Performance Management: Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

This position requires working onsite five days a week.
