About the role
Role Summary
The Marketing Operations Senior Analyst is responsible for supporting the planning, execution, and optimization of marketing programs. This includes setting up campaigns in Marketo, designing emails in Knak, and creating event and webinar registration pages in our CMS, while maintaining accurate data flows between Marketo and Salesforce and providing performance reports.
This role carries significant operational, reputational, and compliance risk. The individual is responsible for executing communications and managing data that directly impacts how the organization engages with prospects and clients. As such, the analyst must take ownership of risk, operate with constant attention to detail, and ensure all outputs are accurate, compliant, and controlled.
The role also involves leveraging AI and automation to enhance speed, quality, reporting capabilities, personalization, and results—while ensuring all outputs meet strict quality, governance, and risk standards.
Key Focus Areas
Campaign Build & Execution
Develop Marketo programs to support email communications, nurture campaigns, live events, webinars, gated content, product demonstrations, and online advertising initiatives.
Create email assets using Knak, and design event and webinar landing and registration pages within the Content Management System (CMS).
Leverage AI to optimize content creation by adapting materials for emails and landing pages, enhancing readability, and increasing overall effectiveness.
Execute all campaigns with full accountability for accuracy, targeting, and compliance, recognizing that every outbound communication carries risk to the brand and client relationships.
Validate segmentation, suppression logic, and audience targeting prior to send to prevent misdirected or non-compliant outreach.
Perform rigorous pre-send QA across content, links, personalization, and data inputs to mitigate risk of errors at scale.
Identify and escalate potential risks before deployment, not after impact.
Email Performance Optimization
Analyze global email performance metrics and provide insights by audience, region, product line and program type.
Conduct A/B and multivariate testing on subject lines, content, design, CTAs, and send strategies, and use results to create recommendations for future campaigns.
Apply AI-driven analysis to identify engagement trends and optimal strategies, collaborating with stakeholders to implement improvements.
Creative Operations & Template Management
Work with design teams to develop and maintain email templates and assets that meet brand and accessibility standards.
Utilize AI to revise and enhance email content for clarity and impact, ensuring it fits template requirements and remains on-brand.
Oversee email template QA and coordinate updates to minimize disruption to ongoing programs.
Measurement, Reporting & Insights
Monitor and report on campaign performance, turning data into actionable insights for marketers and leadership.
Create dashboards and regular reports to track KPIs, ROI, and funnel metrics, and clarify metric definitions and data sources.
Leverage AI-assisted insights to speed up analysis and highlight trends.
Marketing Technology, Data & Process Governance
Support CRM and marketing automation integrations, ensuring data quality and effective lead/contact management.
Establish and follow strict QA and validation processes for all program builds, data imports, and integrations.
Maintain operational documentation and QA standards.
Assist in evaluating and integrating new marketing technologies, documenting processes and best practices for consistent team adoption.
Risk Management & Crisis Response Responsibilities
Risk Ownership: Own the risks associated with campaign execution, outbound communications, and data processing. Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks before they materialize.
Constant Vigilance: Operate with a high level of attentiveness and alertness at all times, recognizing that even small errors can have large-scale impact when working with automated programs and client communications.
Real-Time Issue Identification: Actively monitor active programs and data flows to detect issues early and take corrective action immediately.
Crisis & Incident Response: Be available to respond to urgent or high-severity issues, including:
Client-facing communications related to product issues, service disruptions, or regulatory impacts, ensuring messaging is accurate, controlled, and aligned with legal, compliance, and client relationship standards
Incorrect or unintended email sends
Data integrity or segmentation failures
System or integration issues impacting communications
Escalation & Accountability: Must be willing to jump in immediately and quickly escalate risks and issues to appropriate stakeholders, maintaining transparency and ownership through resolution.
Qualifications (Key Requirements)
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
At least 2 years of experience in marketing operations, automation, lifecycle/email marketing, or digital campaign execution.
Familiarity with marketing technology and CRM systems (such as Marketo, HubSpot, and Salesforce) and AI-enabled marketing tools.
