Location: Newton, MS

Onsite

1st Shift - 5:00 AM – 3:15 PM, Monday - Thursday



JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the maintenance and repair of the ladles and vessels, relining with multi-components the AOD vessels, bottom pour ladles, transfer ladles and the making of stopper rods, cleans the old linings out of the ladles with the use of a chipping gun and installs the appropriate lining, removes the burned bricks from the AOD vessel and re-bricks the vessel, positions and moves the ladles, vessels and refractory materials with an overhead crane.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

· Follows the Ladle Refractory Flow Charts and MWI for all refractory work

· Maintains the condition of all ladles/vessels by chipping the solidified slag or metal away from all exterior components and building components to maintain rotation of ladles/vessels.

· Must perform refractory work on both Ladles & Vessels which will require lifting loads up to 50 lbs.

· Pour Castable for Well Blocks and maintain inventory required of Cured Well Blocks and Well Blocks that need to be cured.

· Must inform Team Leader or supervisor to any unfavorable ladle, vessel or stopper rod conditions/shortages.

· Updating Refractory Application

· Ensure all ladles, ladle components and Vessels meet process & quality requirements

· Data collection and input

· Have a good work ethic and a good attendance record

· Maintain a positive attitude in the workplace at all times

· Participate in lean initiatives (6S, Visual Management, Kaizen)

· Perform other duties as directed by company 

QUALIFICATIONS

· Education:  High school diploma/GED

· Experience:  None

· Certifications/Licenses:  None

· Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  Good reading, writing, mathematical, and verbal skills

WORKING CONDITIONS
. Working Environment – Indoors, extreme heat, noise 90+, possible air contaminants, possible mechanical/electrical hazards, and possible physical hazards.

· Physical Demands:  Great upper body strength, good hand and eye coordination, standing, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, reaching, and walking
