Job Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join a specialist neurorehabilitation service in Northamptonshire, supporting adults aged 18 and over with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and other neurological conditions.

This service is dedicated to delivering high-quality, person-centred care, with a focus on maximising independence, autonomy, and quality of life. You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team in a supportive and collaborative environment, delivering tailored rehabilitation programmes to meet complex communication and swallowing needs.

This role is suitable for an experienced Band 6 therapist looking to develop their skills further, or a Band 7 clinician with established experience in neurorehabilitation.


Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with speech, language, communication, and swallowing difficulties associated with neurological conditions, including ABI and TBI.
  • Deliver individualised, evidence-based therapy programmes aimed at improving functional communication and independence.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of active rehabilitation programmes in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Support patients in achieving personal goals related to communication, cognition, and safe swallowing.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards.
  • Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and service development initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Eligibility for membership with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
  • Experience working with adults with neurological conditions, including ABI/TBI (essential for Band 7 applicants).
  • Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a patient-centred approach.
