Cleveland Clinic Neuromuscular Center specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and research of a wide range of neuromuscular disorders. Each year, these conditions affect 1.5 million Americans of all ages and can be debilitating, progressive, and sometimes fatal. Diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, peripheral neuropathy, myasthenia gravis, and various myopathies can lead to weakness, paralysis, breathing difficulties, and severe pain, significantly impacting the quality of life for patients and their families. As a Research Assistant on our team, you will help advance our mission to improve patient outcomes through innovative research, compassionate care, and the discovery of new therapies by assisting with the implementation and conduct of human subject research projects.
A caregiver in this role works days from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
This position will be on-site during the new hire training period, with the option to transition to a hybrid schedule (typically on-site once per week).
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Assist the research team with research study related tasks.
Assist with completion of protocol related activities.
Obtain and maintain clinical competencies for unlicensed caregivers such as phlebotomy, vital signs, ECG, POC testing and other testing as required.
Assist with the development and coordination of the research subject schedule in compliance with the research protocol.
Assis with the collection, recording and maintenance of research study records.
Assist in the development and maintenance of research tools, such as spreadsheets, questionnaires, and/or brochures.
Maintain study personnel certification records (license, CV, CITI, etc.).
Train to open sleep study software and export files into required formats
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma/GED and one year of experience in a healthcare setting
OR Bachelor’s Degree
Demonstrated proficiency with a variety of computer-based skills, including Word processing, spreadsheets, and database and presentation software
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s Degree
Knowledge of medical terminology
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
In some locations, ability to move up to 25 pounds
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
