Job Description: Warehouse Technician II
Position Summary:
The Warehouse Technician is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient handling of materials within the facility. This role ensures proper receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of finished goods and work-in-process (WIP) products while maintaining strict adherence to Thermo Fisher Scientific safety, quality, and operational excellence standards.
The Warehouse Technician plays a critical role in inventory accuracy, product integrity, and on-time delivery by executing material handling processes with precision and urgency.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
Operate all equipment, including industrial Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIVs), in a safe and compliant manner at all times.
Follow all Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and training requirements.
Perform daily safety inspections of equipment and report any issues immediately.
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment (5S standards).
Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) consistently.
Material Handling & Inventory Management
Accurately put away incoming stock, including finished goods and work-in-process materials, into designated storage locations.
Ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO where applicable).
Maintain accurate inventory records through system transactions and physical verification.
Order Fulfillment & Shipping
Pull materials according to pick slips, ensuring correct part number, lot number, and quantity.
Verify all picked items for accuracy prior to staging or shipment.
Communicate accurate product and order details to processing personnel in a timely manner.
Prepare materials for shipment, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
Labeling & Documentation
Generate and apply accurate labels for outgoing products, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements.
Verify labeling accuracy, including part numbers, lot numbers, and quantities.
Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly.
Transportation & Equipment Operation
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other PIV equipment safely and efficiently.
Drive company vehicles on-site as needed to transport materials between locations.
Quality & Operational Excellence
Adhere to all quality standards and procedures to ensure product integrity.
Identify and report discrepancies, damaged goods, or process deviations.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
Timeliness & Communication
Execute tasks with a strong sense of urgency to meet operational deadlines.
Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and cross-functional partners.
Escalate issues promptly to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required
1+ years of experience
Ability to operate or become certified on Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIVs).
Basic computer skills and ability to work within inventory management systems.
Ability to read and interpret pick slips, labels, and shipping documents.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous warehouse or logistics experience in a regulated environment.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Prior forklift or PIV certification.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely.
Work Environment
Warehouse and manufacturing environment.
Exposure to moving equipment and materials.
Requires adherence to strict safety and quality standards.

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Connecticut is $15.85–$23.77.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
