If so, our Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Principal Electronics Engineer and Sr. Principal Electronics Engineer to join our growing team in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
You will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Systems and Software Solutions (S&SS). S&SS provides sustainment support for the US Air Force B-1, KC-135, and numerous other Government platforms. Our team members complete engineering, reverse engineering, and logistics solution efforts to solve complex obsolescence problems and ensure warfighter supportability.
You will support the Lead Engineer in execution of various program activities, to include Test system design and evaluation, design and development of communication systems, flight controls, navigation, radar, avionics, power and/or electrical systems architecture, components, circuits, and products or aircraft maintenance. The position will research, develop, design, and test electrical components, perform equipment, systems, and design evaluations and provide general engineering support for defense or commercial systems.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze complex electronic circuitry and precision electro-mechanical assemblies through simulation or analysis in order to recommend component substitutions or re-design solutions to ensure the integrity of the platform configuration, system safety, and performance specifications
- Access, interpret, and recommend changes to engineering drawings
- Establish design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test
- Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules.
Basic Qualifications:
- T03 Level: A Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of engineering experience; Master’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 3 years of engineering experience; OR PhD degree in electrical engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of engineering experience
- T04 Level: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 7 years of engineering experience; Master’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of engineering experience; OR PhD degree in electrical engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of engineering experience
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
- Ability to work on-site in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
- Ability to diagnose/troubleshoot/repair hardware components
- Experience with test planning at the circuit card, equipment, and system level
- Experience generating automated test software
Preferred Qualifications:
- Analog/RF, EMI/EMC PI signal integrity experience
- Active DoD Secret Security Clearance (or higher)
- Experience with SKILL or Python is a plus
- Experience with aerospace systems
- Experience with RF systems
- Ability to diagnose/troubleshoot/repair hardware components
- Experience with Altium, Cadence or similar schematic design tools
- Excellent communication skills
