The Department of Neurology at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Per-Diem Staff Physician to provide expert interpretation of inpatient and outpatient EEGs, including routine, continuous, and neonatal EEG studies. This role supports the Pediatric Neurology division and plays a critical role in delivering high-quality neurodiagnostic care across hospital and outpatient settings. The primary patient population will include newborns to children under 2 years of age, requiring specialized expertise in pediatric and neonatal EEG interpretation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret routine, ambulatory, and continuous inpatient EEGs (vEEGs) for pediatric and neonatal patients.

  • Provide timely and accurate EEG reports in compliance with institutional and clinical standards.

  • Collaborate with pediatric neurologists, neonatologists, and other clinical team members to support diagnostic and treatment decisions.

  • Participate in interdisciplinary case discussions and clinical meetings, as needed.

  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system.

  • Comply with all hospital policies, including HIPAA and patient confidentiality guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology.

  • Fellowship training in Clinical Neurophysiology or Epilepsy preferred.

  • Valid medical license to practice in State of Florida.

  • Experience in interpreting pediatric and neonatal EEGs strongly preferred.

  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of clinical accuracy.

Schedule & Compensation:

  • Per-Diem position with flexible scheduling based on departmental needs.

  • Compensation commensurate with institutional per-diem rates.
