About the role

Citi is looking for an Vice President to join its Equity Capital Markets (ECM) team in Australia. The ECM team works in partnership with the Advisory and Markets teams to advise public and private companies, entrepreneurs, and financial sponsors to originate, structure, execute, and syndicate equity financings such as initial public offerings, follow-on capital raisings, block trades, convertible bonds, buybacks, dividend reinvestment plans and other capital markets products. The overall objective of this role is to act as a strategic advisor to our clients by facilitating equity capital formation.
Job responsibilities:
  • Work closely with clients on financing transactions and guide them through the capital raising process, including leading due diligence and drafting sessions and preparing them for an equity or debt offering
  • Manage and mentor junior staff by providing detailed guidance and feedback
  • Work with clients, senior-level team members and outside professional advisors on ECM and M&A transactions
  • Responsible for drafting situation analyses, pitch materials, information memoranda, investor and management presentations and oversee work being performed by analysts & associates assigned to projects
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
Qualifications:
  • 6-10 years' relevant work experience within ECM, corporate advisory, markets, or a related area
  • Comprehensive knowledge of equity capital markets deal structures and a track record of ASX deal execution
  • Strong corporate finance, analytical, business communications skills (both written and verbal), with exceptional multi-tasking and time management ability
  • Exceptional teamwork skills with the ability to effectively interact and build relationships with senior professionals, clients, and key stakeholders in other lines of business
  • Self-directed, highly motivated, resilient, and able to work independently with attention to detail and personal integrity
  • Commercially savvy with ability to exercise discretion with respect to highly confidential / sensitive information
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
