Right now, we are seeking an early career Systems Engineer to join the Mission System team as part of the Modernisation of Maritime Electronic Warfare (MMEW) program.

As Systems Engineer in the MMEW Team, you’ll gain practical experience working across multiple disciplines, including Systems Engineering, System Safety, and Integration & Verification, Hardware and Software while learning how complex systems are designed, assured, and delivered.

This Systems Engineer role offers the opportunity to work across engineering disciplines, gaining hands‑on experience and exposure to end‑to‑end system development including:

  • Conduct Systems Engineering activities, including requirements definition, and support to system reviews
  • Conduct Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and digital engineering practices to enable iterative, incremental design and informed decision‑making
  • Contribute to System Safety activities, including hazard analysis and safety artefacts
  • Conduct Integration and Verification (for both software and hardware) within a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) delivery environment
  • Support ship-fit Hardware Design, prototyping and assembly activities
  • Collaborate across teams to support design reviews, technical problem‑solving, and continuous improvement


Skills, Experience and Qualifications.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills essential;
  • Use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques;
  • Candidates must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a NV-1 Security clearance as needed. Eligibility can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva
