Key Responsibilities – Product Release Communications & Change Specialist
Own the major and minor release communications calendar, including patches and minor releases, ensuring timely, accurate, and coordinated delivery across products.
Produce clear, customer‑facing communications, including:
Release notes
Change advisories
Operational notices
“What changed and why it matters” summaries focused on impact and customer action.
Lead change management execution for releases, ensuring changes are reflected at the point of implementation in the Product Knowledge Center, fully aligned with release timing.
Create and publish patch release notes, including fixed issues, known issues, deployment notes, dependencies, and risk/impact assessments.
Run the end‑to‑end release communications workflow: intake → drafting → cross‑functional reviews → approvals → publication.
Partner closely with Engineering, QA, Product, Support, and Operations to validate technical accuracy, customer impact, and readiness.
Ensure all release communications clearly articulate impact, required actions, mitigations, and known risks, reducing customer confusion and support escalations.
Maintain and continuously improve release communication templates, style guides, and content standards to ensure consistency and scalability.
Manage the publishing cadence for release notes (e.g., weekly patches, hotfixes, minor releases) and ensure on‑time, high‑quality delivery.
Ensure all release artifacts are properly stored, versioned, and searchable across knowledge platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence, Salesforce Knowledge).
Coordinate customer‑facing announcements across multiple channels (email, customer portals, communities) as required.
Track and analyze key metrics, including:
Timeliness of release communications
Defect/NFR trends related to release clarity
Readership and engagement
Use insights to continuously improve the effectiveness, clarity, and impact of release communications.
Act as a single point of accountability for release change clarity, proactively identifying and resolving gaps before releases reach customers.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of experience in technical writing, product communications, release management, or software documentation.
Business Analyst background is a plus
Proven ability to translate technical changes into clear, user‑impact‑focused communications.
Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile delivery models, including patch and hotfix release cycles.
Hands‑on experience with Jira or Azure DevOps, release tracking, and change management processes.
Excellent stakeholder management, editorial rigor, and attention to detail.
Strong written English with the ability to communicate clearly across global teams and customers.
Experience performing change impact assessments and aligning communications to customer and internal readiness needs a plus
Experience in regulated industries (payments, banking, healthcare).a plus
Experience with knowledge bases (Salesforce Knowledge, MadCap Flare, Confluence) and release note automation.a plus
