Team / Role Overview

The Sales Support Specialist is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Excellent communication and diplomacy skills are required. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.

What you will do:

  • Sales Support Specialist will work with salespeople, client executives and clients to support all aspects of the client and sales lifecycle
  • Onboard new clients to Citi for their transactions through outreach and review of relevant KYC documentation, working with internal teams to effectively complete Citi’s KYC criteria before execution.
  • Manage a portfolio of transactions and act as a focal point client queries and support the sales and transaction and relationship management teams in executing deals.
  • Build and develop internal and external client relationships and provide support effective new client onboarding
  • Assist sales by tracking and helping execute on follow up items from internal and client meetings
  • Leading strong governance and controls
  • Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure
  • Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics
  • Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions; demonstrating proper consideration for the firm’s reputation
  • Be familiar with and adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services

What we'll need from you:

  • Relative experience
  • Knowledge of client onboarding procedures (KYC requirements, OFAC, etc.) and use of Client Relationship Management (CRM) system
  • Excellent interpersonal skills related to client interaction, and internal team interactions
  • Proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and general computer skills
  • Experience with CRM, OneKYC, and other internal Citi compliance and sales management systems/policies preferable
  • Requires being detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Excellent work ethic and advanced written and verbal communication skill
