Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & People Management

·        Lead, coach, and grow a multidisciplinary team of 7–8; own goals, feedback, performance, and career development.

·        Balance capacity between platform/foundation work and enabling solution teams, while meeting delivery commitments.

·        Build a healthy engineering culture and manage delivery across a globally distributed team and offshore/partner groups.

Architecture & Technical Governance

·        Set the end-to-end architecture direction and governance model for how solutions are built and deployed on the platform.

·        Guide the evolution of platform contracts and policy — shared APIs, interfaces, versioning, and deprecation — and lead architecture reviews.

·        Direct the management of technical debt and consistency across a large, multi-repository landscape to prevent fragmentation as adoption scales.

Component Ecosystem & Developer Experience

·        Direct the team's delivery of a catalog of reusable components, libraries, and golden-path templates that solution teams adopt to accelerate delivery.

·        Treat internal developers as customers: set expectations for clear contracts, documentation, and self-service onboarding.

·        Define and track adoption, quality, and developer-experience metrics for the platform.

AI / Agentic Platform Capabilities

·        Direct the team's delivery of reusable foundations for agentic workflows (e.g., LangGraph): orchestration, state management, and error recovery — not one-off builds.

·        Set standards for LLM integration (AWS Bedrock or comparable), prompt management, and standardized tool-calling (e.g., MCP).

·        Champion evaluation, quality, and cost discipline for LLM/agentic workloads.

Frontend Platform & Unified Experience

·        Define the frontend platform strategy: host shell, micro-frontend / Module Federation composition, and a shared design system.

·        Partner with UX on interaction patterns so the business gets a consistent experience across underlying solutions.

·        Set frontend standards for state management, performance, and accessibility.

Platform Foundations, Security & Reliability

·        Ensure enterprise security and access control (identity, RBAC, audit) are treated as reusable, first-class platform concerns.

·        Establish observability and operational practices: tracing, monitoring, dashboards, and incident response.

·        Ensure reliable, cost-disciplined operation on AWS with sound CI/CD, environments, and release management.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Delivery

·        Partner with product, data, and solution teams to translate business needs into platform capabilities and components.

·        Represent the platform in cross-team forums; align roadmaps and manage dependencies.

·        Partner with Enterprise engineering and governance teams to align on standards, controls, and shared services.

·        Communicate trade-offs and status to technical and business leadership.

On-site Protocol

BMS has an occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work. This structure includes site-essential, site-by-design, field-based and remote-by-design jobs. The occupancy type that you are assigned is determined by the nature and responsibilities of your role:

Site-essential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility. Site-by-design roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility. For these roles, onsite presence is considered an essential job function and is critical to collaboration, innovation, productivity, and a positive Company culture.
