$70,068.00 - $108,605.00Invasive Cardiovascular Technologists are allied health professionals who performs diagnostic examinations at the request or direction of an Interventional Cardiologist during invasive cardiology, noninvasive cardiology, and/or peripheral vascular study procedures. Through subjective data collection and recording, the technologist obtains information from which a correct anatomical and physiological diagnosis may be established for each patient.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Actively involved in all phases of the peri-procedural process.
- Manipulates procedural instrumentation under the direct supervision of the Interventional Cardiologist.
- Responsible for supplies, and equipment necessary during the invasive cardiology procedure.
- Anticipates the needs of the Interventional Cardiologist.
- Constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
- Able to function independently for basic procedures and with minimal supervision of a senior technologist in the scrub role during advanced and highly complex procedures, and function as a circulator under the supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
- Requires emergency on-call duties.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree - required
- Graduate of an approved Cardiovascular Training Program - required
- Graduate from an accredited Allied Health Program. - required
- 1-3 years in the cardiovascular specialty. - required
- Demonstrates familiarity with and working knowledge of normal vs. abnormal cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, radiation safety, interventional supplies and equipment operation.
- Able to anticipate and prepare for the necessary treatment if adverse events occur intra procedure.
- Able to anticipate and prepare necessary equipment for emergency procedures.

- ABLS - Advanced Burn Life Support Upon Hire - required
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Upon Hire - required
- ACLS Upon Hire - required
