POSITION OVERVIEW
The Hotel Doorman is the first point of contact for guests and plays a key role in creating a welcoming and positive first impression. This position is responsible for greeting guests, assisting with arrivals and departures, and ensuring a smooth flow of traffic at the hotel entrance.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greeting guests warmly upon arrival and departure
- Open doors for guests and assist with entering and exiting vehicles
- Assist guests with luggage and coordinate with bell staff when needed
- Provide information about hotel services, amenities, and local attractions
- Hail taxis, arrange transportation, and manage valet coordination if applicable
- Maintain awareness of the entrance area to ensure safety and cleanliness
- Handle guest inquiries and provide directions in a courteous manner
- Monitor and manage traffic flow at the hotel entrance
- Support security by observing and reporting any suspicious activity
Working Conditions:
- Standing for long periods
- Working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Must be available all days, all shifts
REPORTIONG RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to Front Service Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous hospitality or customer service experience is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, professional demeanor with strong guest service focus
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of local areas and attractions
- Ability to lift and carry luggage when required
- Strong customer service orientation
- Professional appearance and attitude
- Good problem-solving abilities
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Time management and multitasking skills
