Description:
Johnson and Johnson innovative medicine Supply Chain (J&J IM SC) is recruiting for a Senior Manager (or Manager according to the candidate profile); Japan Solid Tumor Supply Chain Leader to be located in Tokyo, Japan.
Johnson and Johnson innovative medicine Supply Chain (J&J IM SC) is the global organization responsible for supplying medicines to markets around the world as a group of Johnson & Johnson.
Japan solid tumor supply chain leader is expected to work closely with Japan solid tumor commercial organization to manage the demand and End-to-End supply of the solid tumor portfolio including new product introduction and new business development. The primary objective is to achieve stable supply and maintain healthy inventory level of solid tumor portfolio to contribute to flowless patient access, business growth and cash flow.
The position reports to senior director, Japan supply chain leader.
Roles and Responsibilities:
“Demand forecast management”
- Lead the creation of consensus demand forecast to solid tumor brands (5 brands/10 SKUs) in 36 month horizon in partnership with marketing and finance
- Create long term forecast up to 10 years for long term supply chain planning
- Anticipate risk and opportunities related to major events such as NPI, loss of exclusivity, new business development
- Utilize demand signals, commercial insights, financial inputs, statistical models, and advanced analytics to conduct robust scenario planning
- Ensure alignment between demand, supply and financial plan and be accountable to explain it to regional and global upstream supply chain
“Inventory management”
- Design and continuously optimize inventory strategies that balance service, cost, and risk across the value chain with business partners
- Develop inventory strategy, and make alignment with commercial, finance partners on key events such as NPI, loss of exclusivity, new business development
- Lead structural improvement to reduce SLOB risks, and prompt actions to mitigate SLOB risks when detected with supply chain and commercial partners
- Monitor inventory and supply plan for any potential stock out risk, and prompt actions to mitigate it with upstream supply chain locally, globally when detected
“Issue management team (IMT) and event management”
- Participate in Global Issue Management Teams (IMT) to gather up-to-date information and influence global decisions reflecting Japan market needs
- Establish and lead Japan Local IMT, ensuring cross-functional coordination (Quality, RA, Commercial, Manufacturing) to minimize local market impact
- Conduct data-driven root-cause analysis and design recovery scenarios that support robust and timely business continuity decisions
- Lead the project within supply chain for portfolio related events such as distribution model change
“Stakeholder management”
- Be as single point of contact to solid tumor commercial team to build and maintain trust (including commercial vice president), and drive decision makings
- Demonstrate strong influencing skills to drive alignment on priorities, trade-offs, and scenario outcomes
- Be a primary point of contact with global supply chain end planning lead
- Partner with quality and regulatory affairs and translate these implication to supply to identify any potential risk and its mitigation proactively
- Coach team members and cross-functional partners to elevate supply chain understanding and strengthen organizational capabilities
“Engagement in local/regional/global supply chain"
Be accountable to Japan supply chain strategy realization, and own KPIs
Join regional/global activities related to capability and culture
Be accountable on continuous end to end supply chain improvement on solid tumor brands
Qualifications
Requirements
A minimum of 5 years experience in demand management in supply chain
OR a minimum of 5 years experience in marketing to be responsible for forecasting
Deep knowledge on end to end supply chain including inventory management (or high learning agility to learn E2E supply chain)
Data analysis and data-driven decision making capability
Future oriented trait to detect early potential issue impacting to business
Project management skills for issue management, and portfolio related event management
Stakeholder management excellence through active listening and concise, transparent, timely&sequential communication
Enterprise mindset with strong end‑to‑end ownership
Business level Japanese and English
Night calls between US and Europe anticipated to this role (On average, twice a week/ 1-2 hour)
Preferable
- Experience leading S&OP/IBP processes or facilitating cross-functional planning forums
- Digital and analytical acumen (e.g., demand sensing, ML models, optimization techniques)
Basic understanding on financials (P&L, sales, COGs, write-off cost)
Experience in end to end supply chain in pharmaceutical industry
Digital acumen to optimize the way of work with latest technology
