In this role you will be responsible for the activities related to the process of building winning proposals/quotations for the opportunities identified and prospected in the market by the Sales team and will lead all the functions supporting the commercial process and deliverables. By doing these activities you will contribute to sales plan in a specific region and support the strategy for targeted clients. You will also formally lead a team in the Commercial Operations function.
As a Senior Tender Manager (Team Leader), you will be responsible for:
- Develop commercial proposals and quotations in a complex sales environment ensuring the deals deliver shareholder value while driving competitive pricing and the right value proposition to the client.
- Lead (formally) a team in the Commercial Operations function responsible for the associated activities within his/her team but also as part of a Commercial Operations hub.
- Develop his/her team in terms of hard and soft skills but also enabling career development/progression.
- Lead (influential not formally) all the functions supporting the commercial process and deliverables like technical proposals, schedules, sourcing, execution plan, quality plant, financials and required investments
- Be accountable and develop (or support the development) of the cost model associated to the contract scope
- Revise and negotiate with customers scope, price, contract Terms & Conditions, technical (with Engineering and Product teams support), financial and other relevant aspects to close the commercial process.
- Prepare the deal business case for functional and leadership approval prior submission
- Support operational, finance, commercial and contractual risk assessment and obtain internal approvals in case of deviations to company standards and guidelines.
- Secure process compliance and support internal audits.
- Cooperate with sales to deliver annual sales plan and long range plan.
- Support price benchmark and the bid strategy for the deals
- Handling standardized products with pre-defined options requiring simple client advice
- Compile and submit required tender documentation in a timely manner;
- Lead the process from Request for Proposal or Quotation (RFP or RFQ) to handover to execution team.
- Lead or support the implementation of variation orders/amendment into backlog contracts
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Law / Business Administration / Economics / Accounting / Finance).
- OR; Have Bachelor’s degree in other area but strong analytical and mathematics capabilities
- 8+ years experience in Commercial Proposals, Costing, Contracts, Finance, Sourcing, Project Management or Application Engineering.
- 5+ years experience in other Energy Offshore market.
- 5+ years experience leading people (formally or influential).
- Ability to lead and develop people by turning strong contributors into talents and talents into pipeline within Commercial Operations or to other functions while securing high quality deliverables and proper work life balance.
- Have advanced to fluent English (will be tested)
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to adjust communication according to audience. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Capability to lead initiatives from medium to high complex scope of work or contractual structure. Ability to coordinate several commercial opportunities simultaneously. Strong analytical and mathematics capabilities.
- Have ability to deal with pressure and workload seasonality
