Cleveland Clinic nurses define excellence in patient care and are compassionate human beings, always striving to learn and grow while they touch lives and hearts. As a Nursing Operations Manager, you will support the growth, development, and advancement of nurses throughout their careers, allowing you to make a difference in the lives of both patients and caregivers at a leadership level. This role helps ensure the smooth operation of the hospital by overseeing the flow of patients throughout the hospital.
This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working shifts varying between 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Identify and ensure appropriate placement, facilitation and expedition of all patient flow transactions, including direct and emergency patient admissions and transfers, in accordance with established clinical standards and knowledge of disease entities.
Address significant patient issues throughout the house and communicate with relevant leaders.
Handle staffing needs and make modifications, if necessary, to ensure equitable staffing arrangements throughout the hospital.
Manage the patient experience trans-organizationally to optimize all resources to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
Monitor and adhere to the annual hospital operating budget.
Approve or monitor expenditures, purchases and other actions to ensure compliance with budget guidelines.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Three years of experience in an acute care setting
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
One year of management experience
Critical care experience (ICU or ED)
Physical Requirements:
Frequent walking, standing, sitting.
Manual dexterity, corrected vision, hand and eye coordination.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
