Manager, Finance – Profit, Loss & Budget

A key member of the Commercial Product Supply (CPS) Conco Finance team, the P&L and Budgeting Manager will support the Conco Finance Director in the financial planning, management, and reporting processes of the Conco CPS plant.  He/she will also support the Conco Finance Director in value-based decision making and in the successful delivery of projects both on the Conco site and across the broader business.

 The successful candidate will operate in an increasingly fast-paced environment and have a passion for change and the ability to enhance and optimize the performance of the CPS Conco Finance team through Operational Excellence initiatives. The successful candidate will deputies for the Conco Finance Director on the Conco site as required.

Responsibilities:

Support and manage all aspects of plants financial operations, including:

  • Report on the financial performance of the operations on a monthly basis (actual and rolling estimate results) to CPS finance and plant management; meet all submission deadlines;
  • Ensure all financial accounting for the plant is completed to CPS / Corporate requirements, ensuring accurate reporting of monthly financial forecasts and actual results (in collaboration with Platform Services & Genpact organization);
  • Ensure value added analysis and narratives are completed for all major variances to plan, and work closely with the budget owners to drive corrective measures when necessary;
  • Proactively identify and communicate Risks and Opportunities;

Support and manage the annual planning process:

  • Manage all Business Plan P&L and balance sheet processes and presentations, ensuring all deadlines met with quality analysis and commentary
  • Manage timetable and communicate with plant management / planning / procurement staff
  • Work with plant Finance Director / General Manager / plant management team to ensure key inputs are prepared and approved within CPS guidelines / deadlines
  • Prepare detailed analyses to assist in communication with Groups and Operating Units, particularly Region Standards communications and follow up

Productivity Initiatives

  • Perform end-to-end value chain analysis to systematically identify efficiencies and sustainable cost saving opportunities, in collaboration with Operational Excellence (OE) team
  • Provide meaningful insights on potential productivity opportunities.

Support strong control and compliance and work with internal and external auditors

  • Compliance with SOX and corporate SPP requirements, ensures Conco complies with the company practices & policies, works with the Leadership Team and department managers to ensure the appropriate level of compliance

 Business Partnering:

  • Manage the financial aspects of Direct Product Supply (DPS) business models
  • Prepare detailed supply point shift analytics to determine the optimal approach for the Company
  • Manage P&L and reporting routines
  • Build value-added relationships with internal plant stakeholders and with Operating Unit Finance personnel

Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement:

  • Coordinate Operational Excellence initiatives in Finance to implement process improvements and standardization of processes across the plants. 

Provide finance input to a variety of ad hoc and project requests and drive value added initiatives in the plant in conjunction with other functions.

  • Support key strategy projects including SAP upgrade implementation

  People Management:

  •  Lead and supervise a team of 3-4 associates, and hold performance reviews

Analysis:

  • Full suite of financial accounting, financial analysis, and problem solving skills as they relate to providing value added and timely business and financial advice on all aspects of plant financial operations
  • Analyze and assess financial controls and reporting processes in the plants to ensure they meet Company standards; implement corrective actions where necessary
  • Analyze and interpret effectiveness of internal controls with particular reference to overheads, purchasing, costing, inventory, capital and chart of authority
  • Analyze and assess current financial acumen existing within the plant and then develop the finance knowledge and ownership in production/operations/OE teams through on-the-job interactions and formal trainings
  • Analyze business developments for inclusion in budgeting process and challenge costs and savings

Decision making:

  • Interpret company financial guidelines and how they are to be applied in the plant environment
  • Directly involved in business planning and responsible for quantifying significant issues involved in the financial plan and making recommendations to management on setting and meeting financial objectives
  • Lead annual business plan process at plant level and ensure planning process conforms to overall CPS process
  • Evaluate current business developments, including financial risk/opportunities, and recommend to senior management what to reflect in rolling estimates and related business planning routines
  • In conjunction with SPP leads, review financial implications of monthly site production plans and recommend changes, highlight issues, and review as required

Innovation:

  • Import & Export Goods ideas within CPS and elsewhere within the company
  • Builds better business acumen by helping to lead the roll-out of financial related trainings in the plants
  • Coordinates Operational Excellence initiatives in Finance to implement end-to-end process improvements
  • Works collaboratively with Finance leadership to optimize the MUV and PPV processes and leverage best-in-class practices across CPS

  Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  •  Postgraduate/Master’s degree/CA/CIMA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent, an advantage

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in managing teams or individuals is required
  • Prior experience in a medium to large scale manufacturing operation
  • Strong detailed knowledge of SAP and integrated manufacturing systems is preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of both internal and external business partnering
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal with senior management
  • Strong presentation and communication skills and ability to influence management in the decision-making process.

Cultural diversity:

  • Based in Conco, Eswatini with regular communication with all other CPS sites and direct communication with Atlanta HQ.  English required.

  

Travel requirements: 

  • Less than 5% international travel, with occasional travel to other CPS locations.
