DESCRIPTION:
Join our collaborative team at Thermo Fisher Scientific and help develop innovative software solutions for scientific instruments. You'll work on advanced technologies that enable breakthrough research in fields like semiconductors, life sciences, and materials analysis. The Innovation Analyst – AI & Data plays a key role in driving data-driven innovation by translating business needs into analytics and emerging AI/ML solutions. This role focuses on partnering with stakeholders to identify opportunities, define metrics, and deliver insights through intuitive reporting, while supporting the adoption of AI/ML and advanced analytics use cases.

The ideal candidate brings strong business analysis skills, hands-on experience with BI tools, and a foundational understanding of AI/ML concepts, with a passion for applying them to solve real-world business problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for innovation and translate them into analytics and AI/ML-driven use cases.
• Gather and document business requirements, define KPIs, and deliver actionable insights through dashboards and reporting solutions.
• Develop and maintain Power BI reports, ensuring clarity, usability, and alignment with business goals.
• Support integration and visualization of AI/ML outputs (e.g., predictions, forecasting, segmentation) into business workflows.
• Collaborate with data engineering and data science teams to operationalize analytics and AI/ML initiatives.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance reporting, automate processes, and leverage emerging technologies such as Generative AI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in business analysis, analytics, or BI roles.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI (or similar tools) and working knowledge of SQL.
• Exposure to AI/ML concepts (academic or project-based), including predictive analytics or data science workflows.
• Interest or familiarity with Generative AI and its application in business contexts is a plus.

Skills & Knowledge

• Strong business analysis and problem-solving skills with an innovation mindset.
• Data visualization and storytelling using BI tools.
• Foundational understanding of AI/ML concepts and ability to interpret outputs.
• Basic SQL and data validation capabilities.
