Job Definition:

Work with a highly collaborative team responsible for driving and managing engineering partnerships and engagements between HPE and VMware/Broadcom. As part of this team, you will help manage engineering programs involving the latest HPE and VMware technologies to meet our customers’ needs.

In this role, you will support and lead cross‑company engineering programs through the product development and implementation lifecycle, collaborating closely with engineering teams across HPE and VMware. Responsibilities include coordinating activities, schedules, and budgets, and ensuring clear, effective communication across organizations to deliver products on schedule and within budget.

This position offers a strong growth opportunity for someone looking to develop into an Engineering Program Manager role. You will work closely alongside the current program manager, learning the role through hands‑on experience, mentorship, and shared ownership of programs. You will not be expected to operate independently from day one; instead, you will gradually take on increased responsibility as you build confidence, context, and expertise in the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead engineering program involving multiple functions and project teams to drive the engineering development and implementation process for product and service offerings
  • Develop and direct development of schedules, critical deliverables, budget, resource allocation plans, and other support requirements for engineering programs
  • Manage activities of supporting project teams and internal development teams; ensure progress against established plans and make determinations based on analysis of business information to alter or update plans to meet product requirements and development schedules
  • Communicate program progress, escalations, and issue analysis to product stakeholders; collaborate with management and internal engineering teams and VMware to recommend and implement changes to product, processes, or business practices to resolve escalated issues, produce solutions, and ensure adherence to budgets and established product roadmaps and schedules
  • Develop relationships and collaborate with HPE and VMware engineers and other program managers to collaborate on and align product plans and schedules

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Management, Engineering, Computer Sciences, or equivalent
  • Typically 2-4 years experience
  • PMP/PMI certification preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience with using project and program planning tools and software packages to create, manage, and track project results
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated business acumen and successful experience managing all aspects of programs, including communicating with stakeholders and directing matrixed teams and resources
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate program plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at senior management levels
  • Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment
  • Knowledge of VMware products is beneficial
