Seeking Experienced Full Time Veterinary Technician to join our team at Budd Lake Animal Hospital

• Location: Budd Lake Animal Hospital - Hackettstown, NJ
• Dedicated 3 DVM practice with amazing clientele 
• Schedule: Full-Time, flexible schedule options available
  • Required: Wednesdays until 8pm and every Saturday are REQUIRED
• Compensation: $19.00 – $22.00 per hour (Compensation based on experience, credentials, and skillset)

A Day in the Life:

• Assist veterinarians with patient exams, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures while ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow throughout the hospital
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor anesthesia and vital signs during surgical and dental procedures to ensure patient safety and comfort
• Provide attentive nursing care for hospitalized and recovering patients, including monitoring, medication administration, and comfort care
• Place IV catheters, administer IV fluids, and assist with fluid therapy and treatment plans
• Perform venipuncture and collect diagnostic samples for laboratory testing
• Operate diagnostic equipment including digital radiography, dental radiography, and in-house laboratory analyzers
• Support dental procedures, including patient preparation, anesthesia monitoring, and dental radiography
• Accurately maintain medical records, treatment logs, and patient documentation
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners regarding treatment plans, patient updates, and post-procedure care
• Work collaboratively with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to provide exceptional patient care and maintain an efficient hospital environment

Skills & Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of veterinary medical practices, procedures, and terminology.
• Proficiency in compassionately handling and restraining animals, including those exhibiting stress or fear.
• Ability to work well under pressure, multitask, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in using veterinary software for patient records and medical documentation.
• Physical capability to lift, carry, and restrain animals of varying sizes.

Budd Lake Animal Hospital is a full-service small animal hospital, offering the gold standard in medical and surgical care. We believe healthy pets make happy people, and we strive to provide high-quality veterinary care for cats and dogs in the Hackettstown, NJ area. Our diagnostic equipment includes an in-house laboratory, radiography, digital dental radiography, and more.  Most importantly, we have phenomenal, experienced support staff who are crucial to the success of patient and client care. Our wonderful 3 doctors perform a variety of routine and basic soft tissue procedures, as well as dentistry. All our patients undergoing anesthesia have pre-op lab work and receive an IV catheter, IV fluids, and are carefully monitored and recovered by our skilled veterinary technicians.
