The Structured Finance Research team is a dynamic, globally minded group that serves as the analytical backbone for S&P Global's structured finance insights and thought leadership. The Impact:

As a Structured Finance Research Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how S&P Global responds to and influences the structured finance market. Your work will directly contribute to our thought leadership position, enabling faster decision-making and enhanced market responsiveness. You'll be instrumental in developing automated solutions that streamline research processes while maintaining the analytical rigor that our clients and stakeholders expect from our world-class research division.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and process large structured and unstructured datasets using statistical programming tools to support critical research initiatives and market intelligence
  • Monitor structured finance market events in real-time to enhance the team's ability to provide swift, informed commentary on market developments
  • Support thought leadership initiatives by maintaining dynamic presentation materials, managing data visualizations, and contributing to the research publication pipeline
  • Develop and maintain automated reporting tools and data collection solutions to streamline research processes and improve team efficiency
  • Create clear data visualizations including charts, graphs, and interactive dashboards to communicate complex analysis to diverse audiences
  • Take accountability for individual and team targets while providing guidance to support colleagues in delivering quality work
  • All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week

What We're Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related quantitative field
  • An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 1+ years of experience in data analysis, statistical programming, or quantitative research roles
  • Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as R, Python, or SAS for data processing and analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills for data manipulation, analysis, and creating comprehensive reports and models
  • Strong analytical mindset with demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and implement creative solutions
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interpret and present technical information clearly to various stakeholders

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with data visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools for creating compelling analytical presentations
  • Knowledge of structured finance markets, including asset-backed securities or mortgage-backed securities
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks based on importance and urgency while managing multiple competing priorities effectively
  • We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.
