KBR is looking for Specialist Project Engineer (EPC) with Onshore project experience in MEGA EPC projects to be based in Abu Dhabi for PMC project.
Job Summary
The Specialist Project Engineer supports the planning, coordination, execution, and completion of construction projects while ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and budget requirements. The role acts as a key liaison between project managers, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and site teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating construction activities.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Monitor project progress and identify potential risks or delays.
- Support the Project Manager in achieving project milestones and objectives.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
Site Management
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work is performed according to approved plans and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and safety requirements.
- Monitor manpower, equipment, and material utilization on-site.
- Resolve technical and engineering issues arising during construction.
Quality Assurance & Control
- Review and approve material submittals, method statements, and shop drawings.
- Ensure all construction activities meet project quality standards and client requirements.
- Participate in inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Maintain quality documentation and records.
Schedule & Cost Control
- Track project schedules and report progress against planned timelines.
- Assist in budget monitoring and cost control activities.
- Evaluate change orders, variations, and claims.
- Support procurement and material delivery planning.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Promote a strong safety culture on construction sites.
- Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in safety meetings, audits, and incident investigations.
- Identify and mitigate project risks related to safety and environmental impact.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports.
- Maintain accurate project records, correspondence, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate project meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
- Track RFIs (Requests for Information), NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and technical submissions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 17 years of experience in Oil/Gas construction project execution (depending on project complexity).
- Experience with oil & gas construction projects.
- Knowledge of construction methods, engineering standards, and project management principles.
- Strong understanding of contract administration and project controls.
