About the role
The Executive Director – Head of Tax leads CSL’s global tax function, overseeing tax strategy, governance, risk, compliance, and reporting across more than 100 legal entities in around 40 countries.
Reporting to the VP, Controlling, Reporting & Tax, this role provides leadership across all tax areas, including corporate, indirect, transfer pricing, and tax accounting. As CSL’s senior tax advisor, the role supports the CFO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board on key tax matters, ensuring compliance, managing risk, and optimising the company’s global tax position.
Your Roles & Responsibilities
Define and Lead CSL’s global tax strategy, aligning to business objectives and risk appetite
Lead and develop a high-performing global tax team, building capability and succession
Oversee tax governance, compliance, and risk management across all jurisdictions
Ensure accurate and timely tax reporting, disclosures, and audit management
Provide oversight of transfer pricing and intercompany arrangements
Advise on major transactions, restructures, and strategic initiatives
Build strong relationships with tax authorities, auditors, and senior stakeholders, including the Board
Drive continuous improvement in tax processes, systems, and team capability
Your Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CA/CPA qualified or equivalent; additional tax qualifications advantageous
18+ years’ experience in senior tax roles within large multinational organisations or top-tier professional accounting firms
Process excellence/improvement
Strong expertise in international tax, governance, tax accounting, and transfer pricing
Proven experience managing audits, disputes, and regulator relationships
Experience engaging with executive leadership
Strong healthcare/pharmaceutical industry experience preferred but not essential.
