Manager Operations Central Labs - Full Time Days

In this highly visible role as the Operations Manager for Central Laboratory, you’ll have the opportunity to lead an expanding team, numbering 120+ dedicated professionals working across Chemistry, Hematology, Specialty Labs and Outreach/Sendouts. This role will be responsible for providing administrative leadership, day-to-day operational oversight, driving project management initiatives and implementing operational excellence strategies to optimize laboratory performance within the Central Laboratory. This role focuses on process improvement, resource allocation and strategic oversight to ensure areas achieve their objectives in efficiency, quality and compliance. The Operations Manager will work closely with the Administrative Director, Medical Directors, Laboratory Finance, IT, Quality and other cross-functional teams to define strategy, standardize workflows, align resources and implement best practices to support quality patient care and organizational goals.

This is a full-time day shift position, located at NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center

Preferred Criteria:

  • Master’s Degree
  • New York State Department of Education Clinical Laboratory Technologist License
  • Meets all requirements of the New York State Department of Health for a Laboratory Supervisor
  • American Society for Clinical Pathology Certification (ASCP) or equivalent
  • Supervisory experience in Hematology or Chemistry

Required Criteria

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 4 years of clinical laboratory experience or 2 years of clinical laboratory experience with Master’s degree or 1 years of experience with a MD, DO or doctoral degree in a chemical, physical or biological science.
  • Minimum 2 years management experience in laboratory medicine.
  • Experience with regulatory aspects of practice
