Job Title: Financial Planning & Analysis Accountant

Salary: £41,500 - £51,900 depending on experience / SG21

Contract: Full time & permanent

Location: Desford, Leicestershire

As an Accountant in the Accountable Reporting team, you will provide accurate and timely financial record‑keeping, reporting, and analysis to support business decision‑making. You have ownership for financial results across assigned product lines and play an active part in forecasting, planning, and continuous improvement activities.

What you will do:

  • Maintaining accurate financial records in line with GAAP and organisational standards, ensuring data integrity and compliance.

  • Producing monthly financial results for assigned product lines, including analysis of performance, risks, and variances.

  • Supporting quarterly forecasts and annual business planning, providing clear insight to inform decision‑making.

  • Preparing financial reports and analysis for internal stakeholders, highlighting trends, issues, and opportunities.

  • Maintaining and adhering to internal controls, ensuring accounting processes remain compliant and effective.

  • Supporting special projects and ad‑hoc reporting requests, contributing financial insight as required.

What you will bring:

  • Qualification: ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified, or part‑qualified and actively working towards completion.

  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Demonstrates a strong focus on accuracy when working with financial data, understanding the impact of errors and using checks and controls to ensure outputs are reliable and compliant.

  • Analytical Thinking: Applies structured analysis to financial information, identifying trends, variances, and root causes to support sound business decisions.

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Produces and interprets financial reports, using established tools and methods to provide meaningful insight into product and business performance.

  • Managing Multiple Priorities: Effectively balances routine financial activities with forecasting, planning, and adhoc requests, adjusting priorities as business needs change.

What you may also bring:

  • Prior experience with advanced reporting tools such as Power BI.

  • High level of initiative, leadership, accountability and good judgment.

  • Strong analytical, process improvement and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills.
