Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Operations & Material Flow Intern to join our operations team for a 10–12 week internship. This role provides hands-on exposure to how materials move across a manufacturing organization, including planning, inventory control, production support, and logistics coordination.

The intern will support projects focused on improving material flow, data accuracy, and operational efficiency. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain visibility into how materials connect multiple functions across the business, including purchasing, engineering, production, and logistics.

This is an excellent opportunity for a student looking to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world manufacturing environment while developing a strong understanding of end-to-end operations.

Learning Outcomes:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in material planning and coordination, including order tracking and inventory alignment
  • Support ERP transactions and help maintain accurate material data
  • Analyze material flow and identify inefficiencies or improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with purchasing, planning, production, engineering, and logistics teams to support daily operations
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives, including workflow analysis and problem-solving activities
  • Use Excel to analyze data, track key metrics, and support decision-making
  • Assist with inventory analysis to improve accuracy and optimize stock levels
  • Contribute to projects that improve on-time delivery, material availability, and operational efficiency

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Logistics, Business Analytics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Interest in manufacturing, operations, and supply chain processes

[Compensation: CAD $26.00/hr]
