The Role
We are seeking an engaging technical leader to join our Body Manufacturing Engineering organization. This senior leadership role is critical in ensuring the highest quality standards across our global manufacturing operations.
As a senior manager in the organization, you will lead a team of manufacturing engineers engaged in ensuring manufacturability of product, enabling sustainable and efficient manufacturing operations, exploring technical equipment/tooling alternatives for the factory of the future, and advancing what’s possible while considering the evolution of the automotive industry.
Work is performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering organization where a significant amount of creativity, initiative, and judgment are exercised in collaboration with partners across the enterprise and with external resources. Supporting the growth and development of a highly motivated team will ensure corporate strategy comes to life, ultimately resulting in satisfied customers.
About the Organization
This role is a senior leadership position within Global Body Manufacturing Engineering, which includes:
- Global Stamping – Enterprise strategy for stamping processes and equipment
- Global Body‑in‑White (BIW) – BIW process and system design across global plants
- Global Product Interface – Integration of product design and manufacturing execution
- Global Business Operations – Business systems, program management, and digitalization strategy

What You’ll Do
Enterprise & Manufacturing Strategy
- Define and execute global Body Manufacturing Engineering strategy, aligned with corporate, product, and manufacturing objectives
- Serve as a senior technical authority for body structures, body systems, equipment strategy, and advanced manufacturing technologies
- Shape long‑range plans for the Body Shop of the Future, balancing innovation, cost, risk, and manufacturability
Organizational Leadership
- Lead multiple teams of manufacturing engineering leaders and subject matter experts across global locations
- Build organizational capability through succession planning, talent development, and technical excellence
- Provide leadership visibility, direction, and decision‑making support across complex, multi‑program environments
Quality, Launch & Operational Excellence
- Ensure robust manufacturing processes that meet global quality, safety, and regulatory requirements
- Provide executive‑level oversight and escalation leadership for complex launch, quality, and manufacturing issues
- Drive systemic improvements that prevent recurrence and strengthen enterprise manufacturing capability
Digitalization & Virtual Manufacturing
- Lead strategic digital manufacturing initiatives, including virtual builds, simulation, and standardized engineering processes
- Partner with enterprise stakeholders to advance Body ME digitalization and data‑driven decision‑making
Cost, Efficiency & Business Performance
- Own cost strategy and performance aligned with KSIs and KPIs across Body ME scope
- Enable cost reduction through manufacturing system strategy, supplier engagement, alternative technologies, and optimized launch execution
- Balance short‑term delivery with long‑term enterprise value creation
Cross‑Functional & Supplier Leadership
- Act as a senior partner to Product Engineering, Operations, Quality, Purchasing, and Program Management leadership
- Engage with strategic suppliers on tooling, equipment, and manufacturing system decisions at the enterprise level
Key Focus Areas for 2026
- Lead enterprise strategy enabling the Body Shop of the Future
- Accelerate global digital manufacturing and virtual process standardization
- Improve engineering efficiency, scalability, and customer satisfaction
- Deliver measurable cost reductions through technology, supplier strategy, and launch optimization
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Demonstrated success leading large, global manufacturing engineering organizations or portfolios
- Deep knowledge of automotive stamping and/or body shop processes, manufacturing systems, tooling, and equipment
- Proven experience with manufacturing strategy development, launch leadership, and supplier engagement
- Strong program and portfolio leadership across highly complex, cross‑functional initiatives
- Ability to operate effectively at the executive and enterprise levels
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- 10+ years of progressive experience in body structures, body systems, manufacturing engineering, and/or quality management within automotive or complex manufacturing environments
- Advanced degree in Engineering or a related field
- Demonstrated leadership presence with the ability to influence at Director and Executive levels
- Track record of building high‑performing global organizations and developing next‑level leaders
- Exceptional problem‑solving capability in ambiguous, high‑stakes environments
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field
