Evaluate adult patients regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic techniques for rehabilitation of speech, language, hearing, and oral motor disorders. Contribute to the success of our Acute Inpatient Units by:
- Assesses & evaluates the patient's communication needs utilizing observation, interviewing skills and when applicable standardized testing. Conductions physical examinations (e.g. oral peripheral, modified barium swallow studies, blue dye). Utilizes related knowledge and skills on an on-going basis.
- Develops and implements a care plan that meets the identified needs of the patient and care partners. The care plan must include measurable short and long term goal with time frames.
- Evaluates the patient response to treatment interventions and revises the care plan with input from appropriate team members, patients and care partners
- Utilizes knowledge of scientific principles and departmental policy to render safe and effective treatment interventions.
- Detects, interprets and acts upon signs, symptoms and responses exhibited by the patient and modifies treatment interventions as needed.
- Applies effective teaching principles through the instruction and supervision of the patient and care partners. Provides instruction to support personnel, and delegates work tasks as necessary.
- Demonstrates the ability to organize and manage a patient caseload.
- Develops and implements discharge plan in conjunction with the patient, care partners and other members of the care team.
- Accurately completes all department and patient care documentation according to current standards and policy.
Qualified candidates will have a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, current NYS SLP licensure, Certification by the American Speech and Hearing Association, and 1-2 years of minimum clinical experience with diverse patient populations. CCC from ASHA required.

Salary Range: $48.216/hr - $62.087/hr
