Reports To: Logistics Manager

General Overview:


This position will work with freight carriers to schedule shipments of finished products and will complete all necessary reports and paperwork associated with shipments. This position reports to the Logistics Manager.

Overall Responsibilities:

The list below highlights the essential job responsibilities but is not exhaustive.

· Schedules of trucks with appropriate lead times

· Plans work/pick up times to avoid detention charges

· Calculates freight charges for shipments

· Using computer to print orders and labels to prepare product for shipping

· Completes/maintains shipping documents and reports

· Assures compliance with customer’s shipping requirements

· Performs cycle counts

· Preparation of customs documentation for international shipments.

· File daily shipment documentation.

· Perform daily shipment audits.

· Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills, Competencies:

· Customer service/satisfaction

· Accuracy/ Attention to detail

· Communication and Reporting

· Ability to work independently and with others to complete shipping process

· Must possess excellent communication skills

· Must possess excellent math, accounting, and reporting skills

· Ability to interface with various levels of management and production personnel

· Working knowledge of computer programs (i.e. MS Word, Excel, etc.)

· Ability to multi-task and adapt to a constantly changing environment

· High School or GED

· 2 years’ experience

· Forklift experience preferred

Work Environment:

Some exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, odors and heat or cold.

Travel Requirement:
