Operating in more than 120 countries, the company blends deep industrial expertise with advanced engineering and digital technologies to support energy production, transformation, and decarbonization. With over a century of heritage, Baker Hughes partners with customers in oil and gas, industrial sectors, and emerging energy markets to accelerate progress toward a more sustainable energy future.

Fuel your passion

The Project Engineering Manager will drive coordination, execution and communication across multiple engineering product lines, part of the MDC product family, within a single project. The Project Engineering Manager is responsible for coordination between product line engineering teams to ensure successful completion of project activities on-time and on-budget. The role will include the responsibility and coordination of Leads/Teams for one or more of the following products: Structures (as Manifold, PLEM, PLETs, Pig L/R, etc), Spools/Jumpers, Connections and Distribution Systems (as SDU, UTAs, Umbilical, etc). The PEM will work directly with the SPS Project Engineering Manager (SPS PEM) and MDC Project Manager and report into the Global Engineering Manager for MDC Project Engineering Team.

As a Project Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating cross‑product engineering activities across structures, spools/jumpers, connection systems, and distribution systems to ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery, while maintaining strong technical interfaces with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Driving integrated engineering planning, aligning schedules, manpower, milestones, and deliverables across multiple MDC product lines to meet project execution commitments.

  • Leading performance reviews and KPI tracking, monitoring S‑curve progress, identifying deviations, and implementing corrective actions to maintain schedule and cost discipline.

  • Managing engineering budgets and resource plans, including cost analysis, forecasting, efficiency tracking, and approval of manpower required to execute project scope.

  • Owning technical communication with clients, ensuring clarity of requirements, configuration control, and alignment with systems engineering on specifications and product changes.

  • Identifying and managing risks, opportunities, and scope changes, ensuring proper approval, mitigation, and execution throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Supporting production and supply chain activities, maintaining engineering ownership beyond document delivery and ensuring part‑by‑part support through manufacturing.

  • Providing leadership and direction to MDC engineering teams, fostering collaboration, issue resolution, and adherence to configuration control and project governance processes.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience in project engineering or project management.

  • Bring proven experience in project engineering, systems engineering, or project management, ideally within complex technical or Oil & Gas environments.

  • Demonstrate strong leadership and coordination skills, with the ability to influence cross‑functional teams and drive execution without direct authority.

  • Show expertise in integrated planning and execution, including scheduling, cost control, and performance management.

  • Possess excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging customers, executives, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

  • Exhibit strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with the capacity to synthesize information, identify issues, and drive timely solutions.

  • Be customer‑focused, able to manage technical relationships, understand requirements, and maintain alignment throughout execution.

  • Demonstrate resilience, ownership, and persistence, maintaining performance under pressure and ensuring deliverables are met despite challenges.
