Job Description

The Applications Development Group Manager is a senior management level position responsible for leading and managing a development team to strategically orchestrate the successful delivery and implementation of new and enhanced application systems and programs. Working in close coordination with cross-functional technology teams, this role is instrumental in advancing technical capabilities, championing engineering best practices, and fostering positive cultural evolution within the organization. The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of our wealth-lending platforms (Margin Lending, Collateral Management), remaining actively hands-on in building the foundational data models, data processing engines, and batch control frameworks that underpin the platform's core APIs, distributed services, and orchestration components
  • Architect and build scalable, event-driven data services and processing logic to support high-throughput lending workflows, such as real-time credit decisioning, margin evaluation, and lifecycle servicing, ensuring low-latency and high-availability for all data-driven functions.
  • Own the full data landscape of the application — from understanding business domain data entities (positions, collateral, margin calls, credit exposure) to defining how data flows across systems and taking full accountability for all inbound and outbound data interfaces.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of business domain data models across wealth management (e.g., trading platforms, risk engines, custodians, market data providers), ensuring data accurately reflects business intent and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and enforce comprehensive data quality frameworks, including completeness, accuracy, timeliness, consistency, and referential integrity checks across all data pipelines.
  • Ensure batch processes are designed for idempotency, restartability, and operational resilience, with clear support procedures.
  • Apply strong analytical and strategic thinking to decompose complex lending, collateral, margin, and regulatory requirements into clean domain models and extensible service boundaries
  • Establish engineering standards across system design, API contracts, resiliency patterns, observability, performance optimization, and secure coding practices.
  • Guide the team through hands-on code reviews, architecture reviews, and technical mentoring, elevating distributed systems design and scalable service engineering practices.
  • Ensure services are built for fault tolerance, idempotency, concurrency control, and horizontal elasticity across modern cloud environments.
  • Partner closely with business, risk, and operations stakeholders to translate evolving lending strategies into scalable, compliant, and high-performance technology solutions.
  • Lead the end-to end execution, proactively managing cross-functional dependencies and mitigating risks, while ensuring timely and high-quality implementation across multiple regions.

Qualifications:

  • 14+ years of relevant experience in designing and delivering large-scale, data-intensive, extensible, and scalable enterprise applications, including real-time and batch processing systems
  • Deep expertise in data engineering, including data acquisition, source-to-target mapping, data transformation, enrichment, and distribution across complex multi-system landscapes.
  • Proven experience in designing and owning data interfaces for enterprise applications, including defining integration contracts with upstream and downstream systems.
  • Strong business domain knowledge in wealth management, lending, collateral management, credit risk, and margin — with the ability to translate business data concepts into technical data models and pipelines.
  • Demonstrated experience in data quality management, including designing automated data quality rules, reconciliation frameworks, and exception management workflows.
  • Deep expertise in database technologies (relational, NoSQL, graph), and data streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, Flink) to support high-volume, low-latency data processing
  • Proven leadership in architecting and implementing robust batch processing in microservices architecture.
  • Drive the strategic adoption and integration of advanced analytical capabilities, including AI and ML, to deliver innovative solutions and significant business value
  • Proven track record of building, managing, and leading high-performing, geographically distributed technology teams
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Ability to define and articulate a clear technical strategy that aligns with business objectives and drives innovation across the platform.
  • Proven ability to define, prioritize, and manage technology roadmaps, balancing innovation, technical debt, and business priorities.
  • Good domain knowledge in Credit Risk, Margin Lending, Collateral Monitoring and Risk Reporting

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
