The Opportunity
We are looking for a Sales Representative (m/f/d) in part-time (3 days per week) to strengthen our Infectious Diseases business at Abbott Rapid Diagnostics in the Netherlands.
In this role, you will take ownership of the southern region of the Netherlands, driving business growth and building strong customer relationships within your territory.
Abbott offers a broad range of innovative diagnostic solutions – from highly automated laboratory platforms to molecular and immunological testing systems – used worldwide for early detection, therapy monitoring, and preventive healthcare.
Our point-of-care (POC) diagnostic solutions enable testing directly at the site of care, providing rapid and reliable results. This allows for immediate clinical decision-making and contributes to improved patient outcomes and overall quality of care.
This position is responsible for achieving sales objectives, promoting Abbott’s POC portfolio across Primary & Secondary Care, and developing key customer relationships within the assigned territory.
What You’ll Do
- Take full ownership of the Southern Netherlands territory, driving sales performance and market development
- Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships across Primary & Secondary Care
- Promote and position Abbott’s Infectious Disease POC portfolio strategically within your region
- Identify and develop new business opportunities and key accounts
- Prepare tailored proposals and manage the full contract lifecycle
- Align with internal stakeholders on commercial strategy and share relevant market insights
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities, providing regular feedback
- Deliver product training and application support to customers
- Represent Abbott at conferences, exhibitions, and industry events
- Ensure accurate documentation of all activities in the CRM system
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in sales within the laboratory diagnostics market in the Netherlands
- Strong track record in acquiring new business and building sustainable customer relationships
- Ability to work independently in a part-time, field-based role with high ownership
- Strong communication and influencing skills across different stakeholder levels
- Customer-focused, solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational and presentation abilities
- Proactive, energetic personality with a hands-on mentality
- Results-driven with a strong commitment to achieving targets
- Fluency in Dutch and English is a must
- Willingness to travel (approx. 70–80%)
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in laboratory diagnostics sales
- Strong understanding of the Dutch healthcare and diagnostics landscape
- Experience in managing complex sales processes and strategic accounts
- Ability to challenge the status quo and bring innovative ideas to customers
- Experience contributing to mid- to long-term business strategies
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
