Your role as a Tax & Financial Reporting Manager will be to lead and oversee a team to complete the preparation of tax, financial and other regulatory reporting for our superannuation fund and managed investment trust clients. Core to this role is ensuring high quality, accurate and timely reporting with an exceptional level of attention to detail. This will involve an ability to analyze and resolve operational issues.

Your challenge will be to support continuous process improvement and collaborate with internal stakeholders on technology developments to meet business and client expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions) as well as support mechanism for achievement including SMART goal setting
  • To oversee the completion of business activity financial statements, distribution calculations, tax returns, financial statements, APRA and ABS regulatory reporting
  • Review & resolve aging break items and breaks over a certain dollar threshold
  • Review and update procedures & controls
  • Drive and contribute towards process improvement
  • Provide solutions, identify and implement corrective action plan to mitigate errors and to ensure adherence to audit and control policies
  • Effective and pro-active communication and consistently participate in periodic governance meeting with our internal stakeholders.
  • Manage audit, client, and risk related queries/items are action upon before the due date
  • Actively involved in team planning, coordination, succession planning and resourcing especially during peak/high volume period
  • Ensure the team maintains the ethical standards contained in the Code of Conduct and adhere to firm policies and procedures, regulatory and legislative requirements
  • Serve as primary point of escalation for internal/external queries, and develop/manage process, productivity and quality standards
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/business studies/technology or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experiences (must have financial reporting knowledge)
  • Experience in accounting, finance, or business-related area
  • Experience in fund administration, change management, and/or project management
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet varying deadlines and work volumes
  • Exceptional analytical skills to review and challenge results
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
