About the role
The Medical Assistant Urgent Care is cross‑trained to perform a blend of administrative and clinical duties while working closely with providers, the office supervisor, and the practice manager. This role delivers professional, patient‑centered care in a fast‑paced outpatient environment.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Hours: Mon–Fri 8–6 (shift 7:45–6:15); Sat 8–4 (shift 7:45–4:15)
Schedule: Rotating 4 days/week, 10-hour shifts; every other Saturday
Closed Sundays

Deliver direct patient care in outpatient clinics—take vitals and histories, document visits, give vaccines and meds, draw blood, run tests, and help with medication reconciliation under supervision.
Receive and document requests from internal and external customers, and respond professionally by phone, electronic message, or in person.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required High School Diploma/GED
Required Program Medical Assisting
In lieu of program, 5 years of medical assistant experience-Required
Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association- within 90 days of hire
For an MA, you must have one of the following certifications within 6 months of hire: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Allied Health or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Medical Technologists (AMT) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Registry of Medical Assistants or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) – National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) – National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Performance Specialists (NPS)
