What You’ll Do

As a key member of the engineering team, you will lead the development and integration of advanced aerospace test rigs and automation systems supporting critical aerospace components and subsystems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop closed-loop control systems for advanced test rigs using platforms such as NI LabVIEW, NI TestStand, and other industrial controllers.

  • Integrate electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and control modules into fully functional automated test systems.

  • Configure and integrate VFD drives, servo valves, proportional valves, and solenoid valves into complex testing environments.

  • Translate customer and engineering requirements into robust technical specifications and system architectures for aerospace test rigs.

  • Work with instrumentation systems, data acquisition hardware, sensors, and calibration processes to ensure testing accuracy and reliability.

  • Support hydraulic system integration, including pumps and associated control systems.

  • Collaborate with suppliers and external partners for component selection, technical discussions, and project execution.

  • Drive project execution in a collaborative cross-functional engineering environment.

  • Ensure strong adherence to Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) standards, risk assessments, and engineering compliance practices.

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.

  • 3–7 years of hands-on industry experience in design, development, and testing of aerospace test rigs or similar industrial automation systems.

  • Strong understanding of control systems, hydraulic systems, instrumentation, and automation technologies.

  • Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering environments with exposure to system integration and validation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with hydraulic pumps and aerospace component testing.

  • Exposure to aerospace qualification or certification testing environments.

  • Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex integrated systems.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.

Work Arrangement

This role may be classified as:

  • Onsite – Primarily based at the assigned RTX facility.

  • Hybrid – Combination of onsite and remote work based on business requirements.

  • Remote – Primarily work-from-home depending on role alignment and business needs.

Specific work arrangements will be discussed during the hiring process.

Eligibility:

  • A university degree in (Technology, Engineering in Mechanical) and relevant industry experience.

  • Approximately 4+ years of prior relevant experience, or

  • An advanced degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
