Job Description

At EFG (ESL FACEIT Group) we create worlds beyond gameplay where players and fans become community. We pride ourselves in having a corporate social responsibility which is that “IT’S NOT GG, UNTIL IT’S GG FOR ALL”. We are passionate about the culture we foster that ultimately helps to create and shape the world of esports, gaming tournaments, leagues, events and holistic ecosystems staged for our millions of players, fans and heroes.

As the Creative Director, you are the senior creative leader for all commercial storytelling at EFG — responsible for the visual direction, conceptual excellence, and creative quality across pitches, campaigns, experiential work, and B2B marketing.

This role sets the creative vision, shapes the look and feel of our commercial work, leads experiential and brand world development, and guides the team toward premium, culturally relevant creative.

While the Senior Creative Strategist owns the strategic narrative and structural storytelling, you ensure that every output — visual, experiential, and conceptual — reflects the highest creative standard.

You also play a leadership role in shaping team culture, mentoring creative talent, and overseeing operational clarity during transition periods or when PM coverage evolves.

Your mission is to elevate the creative quality and visual identity of EFG’s commercial work, ensuring all narratives, brand worlds, campaigns, and experiential concepts are delivered at a world-class standard that drives revenue and strengthens EFG’s brand perception with partners and CMOs.

Key Responsibilities:

Creative Vision & Leadership

  • Set the overarching creative vision for the Commercial Creative team.
  • Lead visual and conceptual direction across pitches, campaigns, experiences, and B2B storytelling.
  • Ensure all output reflects a consistent, premium visual identity.
  • Shape and protect the creative bar, ensuring work is culturally relevant, strategic, and high-impact.

Concept & Visual Direction

  • Provide high-level art direction, moodboards, visual territories, and brand worlds.
  • Partner with the Senior Creative Strategist to align narrative and visual storytelling.
  • Direct designers and creatives toward cohesive, premium visual expressions.
  • Lead experiential creative (The Zone, partner worlds, environmental design).

Creative Development & Quality Control

  • Review and approve key creative routes, pitch decks, visual concepts, and big ideas.
  • Ensure consistency, clarity, craft, and emotional resonance in all deliverables.
  • Serve as final creative signoff for commercial storytelling.

Stakeholder Leadership

  • Act as creative spokesperson to senior internal leaders, Sales, Product, and external partners.
  • Present creative concepts confidently and clearly to executives and brand partners.
  • Build trust across the organisation by demonstrating leadership, stability, and creative excellence.

Operational & Team Leadership

  • Partner with the PM to ensure clarity of process, prioritisation, and workload management.
  • During transitional periods, support resource planning, project flow, and intake processes.
  • Mentor creative talent (strategist, copywriter, designers) and foster a culture of craft excellence.
  • Identify needs for external vendors, freelance talent, or creative partners.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Collaborate with Product teams, Marketing, and Strategic Initiatives to translate EFG capabilities into compelling creative expressions.
    • Partner with B2B Marketing to define the creative identity of EFG in external-facing channels.
    • Ensure creative outputs align with broader brand and business priorities.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years in creative leadership roles (agency, entertainment, sport, gaming, brand).
  • Strong art direction and visual storytelling ability — able to define and evolve a creative identity.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams (design, strategy, copy).
  • Deep portfolio demonstrating visual craft, conceptual thinking, and experiential work.
  • Excellent communicator and presenter, comfortable with executive-level forums.
  • Strong organisational and leadership instincts — able to balance vision with delivery.
  • Calm, confident, and collaborative — able to navigate complex internal environments without friction.
  • Passion for culture, gaming, sport, and entertainment.
