About the role

The Modeling, Analytics, and Simulation Sciences (MASS) Operation is seeking a Senior / Principal Model-Based Systems Engineer to support advanced digital engineering initiatives for our customers at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC). This role is ideal for a technical leader who thrives at the intersection of architecture, modeling, simulation, and enterprise integration.

In this position, you will serve as a technical authority and strategic advisor, driving the development and integration of authoritative digital engineering ecosystems, including MBSE models, simulation environments, and data pipelines that support mission-critical defense systems.

You will work across a multi-disciplinary team to shape next-generation digital architectures, influence engineering standards (e.g., SysML v2), and enable data driven decision making at the program and enterprise level.

Radiance Technologies is an employee-owned company with benefits that are unmatched by most companies in the Huntsville, AL or Dayton, OH areas. Employee ownership, generous 401K, full health/dental/life/vision insurance benefits, interesting assignments, educational reimbursement, competitive salaries, and a pleasant work environment combine to make Radiance Technologies a great place to work and succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead development and integration of enterprise-level MBSE architectures supporting complex systems and systems-of-systems

  • Define and implement digital engineering strategies, including digital thread and toolchain integration

  • Serve as a technical lead and advisor to government stakeholders and senior leadership

  • Architect and integrate MBSE models with simulation, analysis, and data environments (e.g., AFSIM, MATLAB, Python)

  • Drive adoption and implementation of modern MBSE methodologies, including SysML v2

  • Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate efforts across government, FFRDCs, and contractors

  • Develop and deliver executive-level briefings translating complex technical concepts into actionable insights

  • Evaluate, select, and integrate MBSE tools and digital engineering platforms

  • Contribute to or influence industry standards and frameworks (e.g., OMG, DoDAF, UAF)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field

  • 10+ years of experience in systems engineering, MBSE, or digital engineering (Master’s may substitute for some experience)

  • Demonstrated expertise in MBSE methodologies and tools (e.g., Cameo, MagicDraw, Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect)

  • Strong experience with architecture frameworks (DoDAF, UAF, or similar)

  • Proven ability to lead large-scale, multi-disciplinary technical efforts

  • Experience integrating MBSE models with simulation, analysis, and data systems

  • Strong programming or scripting experience (e.g., Python, C++, MATLAB, Java)

  • Experience working with DoD or Intelligence Community customers

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with and brief senior/executive stakeholders

  • Active TS/SCI clearance

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or related field

  • INCOSE CSEP/ESEP, OCSMP, or similar certifications

  • Experience with SysML v2 and next-generation MBSE standards

  • Experience designing and implementing digital threads and data integration architectures

  • Background in modeling & simulation (M&S) and integration with MBSE

  • Experience with cloud-based engineering environments (e.g., CloudOne, distributed toolchains)

  • Familiarity with ontology development or data standards for digital engineering

  • Prior experience serving in a technical leadership or advisory role at the enterprise level
